I first discovered CrossFit in June 2011 while working as a chiropractor at Williams Integracare. I knew from my very first CrossFit workout that I had found something special. The CrossFit program was such a physical challenge that trying to compare it to my collegiate experience in the sport of track and field wasn’t even close. CrossFit has taken me to a level of fitness I never knew existed. Aside from the amazing physical rewards, there is a mental strength component to CrossFit that is found nowhere else. Being able to push yourself to the edge of failure and exhaustion during a workout builds strength that is directly applicable to life. I believe that, not only am I physically stronger, but mentally and emotionally stronger because of CrossFit. CrossFit has allowed me to escape and step outside my role as a doctor and mother of two for at least an hour each day. My days as a chiropractor are coming to an end. However, focusing my energy on my passion, CrossFit, is the best decision of my professional life.
